Yes "Karma" is the correct spelling (there is no "h" in there). It is
the Universal Law of Cause and Effect, or Action and Reaction. For
example, you can put your hand into a fire, with or without knowledge of
the law of physics, but you will get burnt in either case.
Karma is not just an isolated principle. When you combine it with the
principle of reincarnation it makes more sense. It is logical. Any
action can generate three types of Karma: "immediate" (in a few days at
most), "within this life", and "in the next life".
It is true that "you can be as nice as possible and still get nothing"
in this specific life. But the good Karma that you would have built up
will be retained for the next life if there are not any
opportunities/circumstances in this particular life.
The number of souls is far greater than the 10 billion that you mention,
it is not necessarily the case that all souls are incarnated on earth at
all times. It is difficult to get human birth (many spirits yearn for
it), and it should be regarded as a great privilege. One's own life and
that of others should be respected.
Note that Christianity taught reincarnation in the early centuries, but
the idea was removed for political reasons. Also Karma is expressed in
Christianity as "As Ye Sow, So Shall Ye Reap". It is logical.
I hope that I have clarified these topics. Please ask me further
questions if you need more information. However, if you chose to
arbitrarily reject karma and reincarnation (without any particular
reason) then that is your personal choice.
* You are not alone (at least when you are with us in the K-List).
* Whether you deserve to be alone is your Karma.
* Whether you die alone is up to God/Nature.
