I am struggling with a concept. I think that all on this list would agree
with the statement, "God is love." Again, most on this list, including
myself, have had direct encounters of God and have experienced a state that
we label as love. My struugle is, what does the word love mean? I can
quickly eliminate what it doesn't mean. It doesn't mean that God will be
nice to us. It doesn't mean that our life will be fair or just. It doesn't
mean that He/She/It will always be there to support us in times of trouble.
It dosen't mean that God will meet our needs even at the most basic level
(given the number of children who starve to death).
Is love simply a nice feeling? a temporary state of bliss that comes and
goes without rhymn or reason?
If love is a state of being or an indescribable experience, then so what?
How does my life change because God is love?
Love?
