It's funny how much the wacky tobacky has been on my mind lately, even
though I don't use it. First, on Thursday I read in a local publication
about an old college professor of mine who has written a book on "marijuana
consciousness." Then, last nite, I was out with a new friend--a Chinese
girl, who is Christian but quite liberal, and we were talking about a slew
of artistic, cultural, social, political, philosophical, theological topics,
and we came around to marijuana. She's a smoker. I don't smoke, but I don't
think there's anything exceptionally evil about it and I think it's absurd
that it's illegal for the common person. I also think the real reasons for
criminalizing drugs are evil. Big, big bucks are made through the black
market; drug money laundering; bribes to officials; government drug dealing
to fund "black" projects; the building and operations of the police state
and prison system; prison labor; etc.

Just my thoughts. If I were to use marijuana, I'd probably not smoke a
joint, but use one of the popular water-based delivery systems ;) or just
bake some hash brownies. Yum!
