Subject: [K-list] Anger the potent weapon for householders, when sparing

Dear Janet
Thanks very much for explaining your experience of the Divine Shakti
Although, as you have rightly observed, what one can perceive is only what
one has experienced
> To tell you the truth anger is a whole lot better
> When I am angry it come and goes like a storm.
> It just boils out of me and I am barely able to contain myself.
This is a perfect description of what happens to me!
Strangely enough, both of us seem to have the same set of experiences
relating to anger And that, when we are living in different countries!
> if the strength of it is related to K or just unresolved childhood stuff
or both.
It is related to K most certainly. It is also related to the subconscious
recordings, whether of childhood or not
Possibly, childhood experiences create deeper subconscious impressions
For people who are guileless, even adult experiences leave deep subconscious
expressions. However, they can overcome this by consciously retaining the
supreme quality of guilelessness which invokes the Grace of the Divine,
but also developing lack of involution in the group-mind and
supreme discrimination between the real and the unreal
> Your thoughtful opinions and stories about your own anger issues and K
would be helpful.
Anger is a very potent weapon for those who are living in the world
It must be used to hiss at evil-minded people very powerfully
so that they will desist from injecting their psychological venom into our
circumstances.
However, one must not harm others in anger
Because, that would create karmic repercussions.
That would deter our spiritual progress
It must however be admitted that anger agitates the awakened serpent
It dives to the lower centres on account of raging anger
It also increases lust, jealousy and other nether region attributes in the
individual
So, it is best avoided skilfully
Only to combat evil, it can sparingly be used.
Again, after a rage of anger, one has to do sadhana to quieten the K.
A small story often told by Sri Ramakrishna
Once a saint instructed 'a snake with a heavy biting tendency' in the Name
of God
Following the instruction, the snake incessantly chanted and became soft
The boys 'who previously used to run away from it' noticed its
transformation
and took it by hand and banged on the ground.
The snake was seriously wounded and retired into its hole
and was suffering from hunger for many days
Upon returning after a long time through the same town,
on the outskirts of which the snake was living in a hole,
the saint observed its pitiable condition and
pointed out at the folly of the snake
He warned the snake never to fail to hiss at evil ones thereafter
Thanks and kind regards
RK Shankar
