Hi All -
:-)
What interests me about the onging thread here is the
fact that some women describe themselves as
"suffering" each month and others do not. What's that
about?
Is there something going on here related to an
individual's tolerance for pain/discomfort? Some have
a higher pain threshold, perhaps, and for them natural
childbirth is something they embrace. And others, with
lower tolerances, require anesthesia or some degree of
sedation. For some the monthly cycle is no big deal,
for others intense suffering.
Is there something that people can do to adjust their
tolerance for pain or discomfort? Can some
skills be learned over time to desensitize to or
even learn to embrace the pain? Some writers talked
about 25 years of monthly cycles, but frankly, for
most, it may much closer to 40. I can't imagine 40
years of "suffering."
Just wondering...
love,
rita
