Dear David,

I agree wholeheartedly. :)) Although we can never fully be in another's
shoes, our common humanity allows us to experience most things in
common--only the details differ. If there were no empathy, we couldn't share
experiences at all. There is no way of telling if we ever truly actually
see/feel/experience the same things. We assume we do, though, otherwise
there would be no communication at all possible.
