Clearly, no person is a car or a machine.
Consider the role of analogies. A part of an analogy is the essential
message to be understood and the rest is merely the carrier (which can
be immediately ignored once the message is understood).
Also, consider standard metaphors and similes such as "knife through
butter", "as fast as lightning", etc. No one is butter or lightning,
but the essential message is conveyed.
[Of course, you may have been joking and in fact I did have a good laugh
when I first read your response.]
