Subject: [K-list] So, where does thought originate from?

Hi K-friends,

Thanks for the recent replies to my above question, even though things got
heated and went off topic, at least things calmed down eventually. Thank-You
God/dess! (-:

It was so nice to see so many diverse ideas put forth. Most interesting.
Okay, now its my turn:

So, Where does thought originate from?...

Answer: It originates from the thinker! (Ta Da!) (-:

But my answer is still incomplete -Why? )-:

During my meditation practice I sometimes use Sri Ramana Maharshi's self
enquiry technique; "Who Am I" -- Using his technique, I attempt to follow my
thoughts back to the source. Imo, watching thought is very much like watching
(the universe theory of) a mini "big bang" rapidly firing off one after the
other in my mind. Watching thoughts come into existence, then passing out of
existence, just observing how ephemeral they are. -- As my "Who am I" enquiry
deepens, my thinking process eventually ends up silent, and the "Who am I"
question ceases, in its place, all that is observed is utter stillness and
silence... Of course, when I come out of my meditation, and the thinking
process re-engages, the enquiry then poses yet another question:

Where does the thinker come from?

Logically the answer would be: From the Source, of course! -- But I have
never...ever...witnessed the thinker at its source. Now, can anyone enlighten
me here? Because it seems to me that the thinker may be just an illusion, and
therefore, that would make thought (as a by-product or an effect of the
thinker) also an illusion.

Ah well... back to the Silence again. {-:

Thoughtfully yours,

Dean
