Yo,
Recently I have been having (very) cold showers. The pattern started in January this year, even though it is winter here in the UK. I remember having cold showers when I was a teenager, just for the fun of it. At present I start by having a normal shower (with perhaps a slightly higher temperature than before), and at the end of that I immediately turn the temperature to the coldest setting and start Mantra Yoga. I begin with three OM repetitions and then continue with Hari Om Mantra, Gayatri Mantra, Ganga Mantra, et al. The Mantras are sometimes loud and external, and at other times are silent and internal. I also offer my respect to my teachers, Masters, etc. This cold shower syndrome lasts several minutes. This is not done with my conscious intention. There appears to be a need to do it and it just gets done.
I have seen/heard somewhere that hot/cold showers are linked to Kundalini. Does anyone know the references? Can anyone describe the relationship?
Another occurrence a few weeks ago was that my body became so hot during Kundalini activity that I had to remove everything, even eventually my watch which was the only item left, because it all felt so uncomfortable and unnecessary. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Jack.
