hi Michael,

as we saw from your last reasonably justified exception to the guidelines
(fax to bush), it lead to a thread of about 25 posts, and a flame war that
would have escalated if the moderators didn't stomp it...

the list reaffirmed its preference to not have this kind of stuff posted
here... actually, it is such a pain in the ass to be one of the moderators
who keep after this stuff, that i'm almost sorry i volunteered... but if
this place isn't regularly weeded, it would be a wild field instead of a
garden... and there are folks who have tended to this place for years to
keep it as a garden.. and there plenty of wild fields on the net...

one beautiful dandelion would add a nice touch... but you never get just one
dandelion... we're trying to keep the place weeded. and it is a tough job...
Mystress contributed some help even though she got so fed up that she
decided she didn't want to weed anymore...

comments and opinions like yours about this reminder about the guidelines,
as genuine and innocent as it was, make those of us who volunteered to weed
the garden say, "fuck this! it's not worth the trouble..."

i love you and the stuff you post... but you have been making our job more
difficult... both with this last post, and also the "fax to bush"... please
give us a break...
