I don't gnow about you, but occasionally, it makes me wonder if they have.
A friend of mine taught welding at the local community college. He stated that when teaching he learned more than
his students.
He knew that I was a journeyman pipewelder and had changed
over to pipefitting as age made it more difficult for me to see well enough to weld as precisely as this trade
demands.
A good job he heard about came up and he needed a fitter to travel with him to get the job. He wanted me to go with him as his fitter so he could make some money as a welder.
When we got to the job he couldn't pass the welding test, and so we came back home. Maybe he hadn't taught welding long enough to learn how to do it.
