Wow! That was a potent email and really hit the spot.
Im buzzing.
Hope that thread has provided some value for others on
the list because it was very valuable for me in more
ways than one.
Just got offered a job today doing Thai Massage at a
charity for disabled people. Its an organisation that
offer alternative therapies to people with serious
disablitites. Apparantly my list of clients include a 3
year old boy with cerebral palsy and a man paralysed
from the chest down.
Interestingly enough the paralysed guy reports a marked
increase in his feeling of well being after Thai
Massage despite the fact that he has absolutely no
physical sensation in his body. This demonstrates that
the energy balancing properties of the treatment have a
marked effect on his well being, which is not hard to
believe for those of us familiar with the concept of
the human energy field but apparantly seems a little
strange to those who think that these type of
treatments work only on a physical level. Well Im
looking forward to the new challenge and Im sure it
will be a steep learning curve. I am a little nervous
but confident that this is a good move for me.
Incidentally, there was a fascinating documentary on
the other night charting Christopher Reeve's life since
the accident that caused his paralysis from the neck
down. It just seems too coincidental that the man the
whole world recognised as "Superman" - mthe an with
superhuman powers, should suffer such a severe
disability and lose almost ALL physical function. His
spirit in fighting back against all the odds is quite
remarkable. To watch him make such progress despite
medical science saying recovery was impossible was
spine tingling stuff. A real inspiration.
Im off to bed now and tomorrow Im up early to work
through my new vampire manual. 'Devil's Advocate' with
Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino just popped into my head.
Good movie!
