Dear Zon
> Is Sabbath is a symbol, a reflection of great value to many to you?
Sabbath truly reflects a great value to me
I am astounded that you could intuit it and state it precisely
In fact, as a result, this is the first time I am consciously affirming this
clearly to my own subconscious
Congratulations and thank you very much
In fact, its value has grown into me without my conscious awareness
I was heavily inspired by the Lord's emphasizing the importance of Sabbath
in the Old Testament
I am talking about the days of the Servant of God, Moses
Also, St John's affirming Jesus to be the Lord of Sabbath had a profound
subconscious impact on me
> Behind a question, one underlying question.
> one difficult question is sub-divided into many
> asking the real question could help more.
That is terrific understanding of human subconscious
I raised a question concerning the Sabbath
Then, your and Michael's description made me realize that I had not framed
the question precisely
For, something was inside me. And, I asked some related surface thing
So, the answer did not resolve the inner query
Hence, I stated the question precisely. That is, in your own words, asked
the real question
> The Sabbath, the 7th day, is completeness
> Jesus being Lord, is the Lord of completeness.
> You'll find the holy spirit easier on the Sabbath.
> Why, Sabbath is the day we contact God
> May the light and the holy spirit be with you
That is very well stated and that completes me, by resolving the inner query
Thanks once again because it could well have been taken that I am asking
questions in vain
By the way, as to why Sabbath gained in importance within me, a brief
narration
As a Chartered Accountant, doing systems consulting here for the last 1 year
in Chennai in India,
I have always found that professionals and others do not gain full knowledge
of anything on account of their remaining 'busy' throughout the week
So, they remain and live in fear of the insecurity, kept alive by the
incompleteness of their knowledge, throughout the week
"Working interspersed with short breaks", I have practised and found to be a
great relief
And, I always used to tell my friends that I do not work on Saturdays and
Sundays, on account of my observing the Sabbath
Of course, they used to think I am a crackpot.
During the last 10 years of my practice in Botswana, Africa, I hardly worked
on Saturdays and Sundays(!!!)
Also, because of not dedicating their works to God,
and not gathering inward the extroverted awareness by taking rest and
praying,
people become shallow and remain rooted in incompleteness
Again, we all know that love for all and righteousness must be at the root
of earning money
However, according to Tirukkural, a scriptural masterpiece in Tamil (my
mother-tongue),
not straining one's bodily and mental resources, must also be at the root of
earning money
Hence, we must earn money without straining ourselves also
In fact, the Tirukkural says that money earned WITHOUT
1 love for all
2 righteousness and
3 REST
will be stolen by thieves
Thus, the Sabbath of the holy Bible and the 'not straining oneself' of the
Holy Tirukkural,
to me, represent the positive and negative sides of the same coin
Hence, the growing importance of the Sabbath
and its being a symbol and reflection of a great value to me
Indeed, very well framed and stated by you!!!
Thanks and kind regards
RK Shankar
