Actually, what I said was: "Sorry.  I thought I remembered you saying we might bend the rules a bit on the new list." I do remember you saying something to that effect, and I thought there was room to share a strangely funny little poem. I am mindful of the bandwidth issue, and I thought it was short enough not to cause a big problem for anyone. Of course, it was accidental that I posted it twice.

Clearly, I hugely misunderstood you, judging by the strength of your reaction. I don't remember ever breaking this rule before, in the couple of years I've been participating in your list and I am a bit bewildered by the punitive and hostile response. Not sure I deserve it. In fact, I know I don't.

Now, my guideline responses.

1)  Should the guidelines be loosened enough to become a free for all of silly jokes, forwarded lucky charms, funny pictures, attachment files, political petitions and whatever else any member feels like sharing in the moment?

Of course not. Are you seriously asking this, or believing anyone would want this?

2)  Should the guideline be respected and enforced, to stick to the topic of kundalini and related member experiences?

Most certainly, if that is your wish.

2a) Would you be willing to help remind members who stray off topic by posting to them privately?

No.

3)   Should another list be created, for the jokers and people who want to look at forwarded jokes and attachments.

Not on my account.

3a)... and people who post such stuff repeatedly, be banished there?

I don't even know what to say to this.

4) Is bandwidth a concern for you? Do you care if the list traffic grows because of off topic content?

No. Yes.

5) Are attachments a concern for you? Bear in mind that a list that allows attachments is vulnerable to the spread of viruses. Allow them or not?

I wouldn't open attachments.

6) Is styled text a problem for you?

I haven't seen any styled text. Maybe because I get the digest.

7)  There are legal considerations to this guideline. Copyright regulations. What is posted to the list ends up in the archives, making me, the website owner, the one responsible for the members copyright infringement. Therefore, I must make an executive decision: long quotes from books and websites, and similarly copyrighted material *still* cannot be posted to the list.  That aspect of the guideline is not open for debate.

Okay by me.
