This list does not have an option for moderated posts. What it has, is a "deny" option, which declines posts from addresses on the deny list. They do not get forwarded anywhere, they just get bounced, return to sender. People on the deny list can still receive the mail, and respond to authors privately, but they cannot post to the list.

Yes. K-911 AT_NOSPAM yahoogroups.com. However, it only has a dozen members and people who want to spam political seem to prefer a larger audience for their soapbox, regardless of members preferences in the matter. Force feeding.

OK, that question could have been phrased better, to address not only the physical investment of bandwidth, but also the time involved in sifting through the signal to noise ratio.
The other question, what I was really asking, was whether it is worthwhile to switch to the cpanel/Mailman option... however, I think that will become clear once the results are tallied.
Thank you everyone who has responded so far. Apologies that this poll itself, takes up so much space but it is a time investment in space saved in the future, like organizing a closet.
