silly jokes, forwarded lucky charms, funny pictures, attachment files,
political petitions and whatever else any member feels like sharing in the
moment?
NO! Goodness. I just get decent spam protection from MSN and now I may have
to take it from the k-list? This is a high-traffic list as-is, and I really
can't see a reason for allowing spam.
> 2) Should the guideline be respected and enforced, to stick to the topic
of kundalini and related member experiences?
I think if people put off-topic in their posts, I don't care what they say
(as long as it isn't spam). My experience with that, however, is that no one
will use the off-topic designation regularly.
> 2a) Would you be willing to help remind members who stray off topic by
posting to them privately?
Sure.
> 3) Should another list be created, for the jokers and people who want to
look at forwarded jokes and attachments.
Um.No. What would you call it? Kundalini-Spam? ;) Or maybe
Kundalini-Hair-Splitting?
> 3a)... and people who post such stuff repeatedly, be banished there?
Well.now that you say that, it does sound like a better idea. :P
> 4) Is bandwidth a concern for you? Do you care if the list traffic grows
because of off topic content?
Bandwidth? No. Amount of messages and a much reduced signal to noise ratio?
Yes, that's a concern.
> 5) Are attachments a concern for you? Bear in mind that a list that allows
attachments is vulnerable to the spread of viruses. Allow them or not?
No. No reasons for attachments, unless you enjoy viruses. I don't,
personally. I think I'm getting over my masochistic streak.
> 6) Is styled text a problem for you?
No. But I just got the ability in MSN to choose plain text.LOL.
> 7) There are legal considerations to this guideline. Copyright
regulations. What is posted to the list ends up in the archives, making me,
the website owner, the one responsible for the members copyright
infringement. Therefore, I must make an executive decision: long quotes from
books and websites, and similarly copyrighted material *still* cannot be
posted to the list. That aspect of the guideline is not open for debate.
In complete agreement.
