Kundalini will exaggerate any emotions that arise and will bring up a slew of new ones for no comprehensible reason. I've found that the emotions have calmed down over the years but occasionally a k-storm will still come roaring down the plains. For me, the most important way of dealing with all of this is to practice detachment -- trying not to cling to blissful states and trying not to push away unpleasant states. I have reminded myself frequently that kundalini awoke wildly one night when I was in a really rotten mood. This taught me that even great unhappiness can be a gateway to awakening and bliss. Actually, I personally have found the greatest times of suffering to be when there has been no emotion at all -- no love, no aversion, no passion. I call these the "slash & burn" periods of kundalini when my psyche is just shut down for alterations. Fortunately, these periods are less and less frequent. The result of these intense effects of kundalini on the emotions is increasing transparency of the (small) self and absorption into the Whole. The emotions then are just like weather, they are not happening TO anybody. Holly
