I am familiar with it, and find it very beautiful. I often recommend awakened Christians study Gnosticism to find the bridge between their faith and their Kundalini experiences.
It is Christianity, as it was before Saul, Constantine, King James and the church of Rome got ahold of it and perverted it to serve their political agenda.
Shakti as Sophia, Goddess of wisdom is something I find particularly resonant. The early Christians referred to the Holy Spirit as "God the Mother."... Goddess! :) Holy spirit fire awakening and rebirth, and Kundalini-fire awakening have many similarities, especially for top-down awakenings, which tend to be easier than root-upward awakenings. The higher chakra insights soothe the process, as your quote described. Surrender is learnt, before the serpents start to dance.
Sophia is the feminine principle of the Divine in the Hebrew faith. Solomon worshipped Her by other names, but his son David burned the sacred groves on the hilltops and focused on the male destroyer aspect. So, Solomon is known for wisdom, and David is known for war.
This cycle has happened many times through history... the Goddess being forgotten, forbidden, then rediscovered by later generations. We are going through such a historical cycle at this time.
Similarly, the icons of Mary with a serpent underfoot, take on a meaning similar to Kali trampling Shiva, and Aphrodite on a clamshell. The Serpent is the source Mary sprang from, not the demon She conquers. The Serpent energy taking form as the Divine Beloved/Mother Goddess.
Viewed in this way, the Genesis story takes on a very different meaning, closer to the Sumerian mythology it was borrowed from, of the Divine creator serpent in the garden who taught the sacred mysteries of sexuality, agriculture, etc.
There are very ancient images of Kali in her Mother Goddess aspect that are clothed exactly as Mary is usually depicted, blue cloak and white cowl, serpent underfoot, peaceful visage. They predate Christianity by many centuries.
I explained Goddess to my own Christian mother, via her form-manifestation as Virgin Mary. Her own mother had worshipped Mary as primary intercessor, so she could relate to it easily.
India has records of Jesus spending time there, at the feet of Masters during the "lost years" between the water-to-wine miracle of the wedding when he was a teenager, and his reappearance at age 33. His teachings take the form of Hindu mysticism translated to the Hebrew belief in a Messiah.
