"Helping others".... seems to be an issue/topic of debate time and again on this list.
All my life I have been driven to help others. Particularly the last few years. Where I see sadness, hurt, sickness and pain I have a deep desire to heal. But why?
Since I started doing bodywork and empathic healing I have for the first time felt like my life has purpose and meaning. Yet in moments of self doubt I feel like an imposter on a glory trip even though in my work I see profound results. My confusion is holding me back. Its like a switch flicks. When Im clear and connected to source I have no need to question and then there is the flip side.
I want to throw this out to the list to hear your opinions and perhaps this will help me clarify my position because at the moment I am torn between the following two conclusions.
1. No one needs any help or healing. There is no where we are coming from and no where we are going to. No good and no bad. Nothing to heal. There is only experience and free will. The desire to help others comes only from a need to feel useful and valuable and to give me a sense of purpose and meaning. People are Gods of their own lives creating their own reality. Without darkness there could be no light, without pain there could be no pleasure and without suffering there could be no joy. Nothing to heal. This is the natural order on the physical plane. This is duality.
2. There is a way we can all live in a loving and peaceful world. A world with no crime, no war, no hatred, no violence and no suffering. It is right there for all of us, our children and our children's children. I believe that if we woke up in enough numbers. If we all treated others as we wish to be treated; if we all faced our demons and surrendered to God/dess; if we all stopped judging others; if we all recognised that we are one family of brothers and sisters; if we all recognised that we are sharing a beautiful planet temporarily and that we dont own it and it is not ours to destroy. It seems so easy. It doesn't even require faith in a higher force, just common sense.
Anger and hatred destroy the human body through dis-ease. By healing the pain and hurt, the body heals too. Surely this is a more desirable state. Or is it?
