Setting aside the fact that this point of view has been "traditionally" considered "delusional", is this such a terrible thing? Spiritual awakenings manifest in as many ways as there are people on the planet. Perhaps God is coming on Monday and will manifest himself in your boyfriend's realization of his own Divinity. Paradise will then indeed reign for him. Although it may take longer to completely manifest than he currently realizes.

There have been times I have felt like "God's Annointed" also. This is the meaning of the term "Christ". It literally means, "the annointed one. Now also bear in mind that his trouble may lie in wanting everyone else to know he's been "annointed". Most people aren't ready to hear that so anyone who claims to be annointed will probably be considered "looney" and locked away.
In my study of Kriya yoga, it is taught that the "annointing process" takes place in the pineal gland. When the cerebrospinal fluid comes into proper balance, the pineal gland begins secreting neuro-transmitters that promote the opening of the third eye. The problem here lies in the persons peace of mind. If the person has not developed a great enough level of inner peace, the premature opening of the third eye creates an imbalance.

If God does not manifest quite the way he invisions on Monday, he will need all the support he can get. Give him your love and do not judge him. If he will listen, tell him of all the things you have learned here and refer him to the Spiritual Emergence Network. These people are trained K-friendly professionals. They will be able to help in a constructive, non-judgemental way.

My own awakening was rather stormy, but not quite as intense as this. I had no support afterwards. My family and friends had no comprehension of what was happening to me. It took a while to integrate what happened to me into something resembling a functional personality capable of normal interaction with other humans. It is my firm belief that if I had responsible, knowlegable feedback early on, I would have avoided a long period of depression. Love and acceptance for him will go a long way in aiding him to "get back on his feet".
