To all, After having a Kundalini experience I found it was something I quite
often couldn't talk about. Frequently, even from people who I would consider
much more liberal in their belief, they would look at me with a questioning
eye, and take two steps back. I joined this group because I thought perhaps
it would be a place where people could give affirmation to a shared
experience.
It is unfortunate the term New Age was ever coined. There is nothing New
about New Age. These are beliefs and practices that people have been
involved in for a long time. Even the ideal of the coming of a New World is
as old as religion itself. Myself, I tend to embrace the here and now
philosophy. As for God's and Goddess's what ever moves you as long as there
is no intentional harm to someone else, it is all fine. For me though
praying to an idol even if it is imagined is placing the divine outside the
self. I do feel a strong pull to Shiva and Brahman and the mother is my
ground. But I have associated these concepts as energy that comes from us
all and are in every living thing. I suppose the fine line is how I
visualize it. Again, it is all good.
To question is good but I don't believe any of us would enjoy coming under
attack for our differences, to be harpooned for them. Is this or is this not
a support group, in support of Kundalini? Is it possible that we can support
each others difference's? In reference to a members poem associating a
spiritual awakening, combustion, whatever to rape: it made me squirm. I
think of rape as someone taking sexual pleasure from another without shared
consent, as something violent, narcissistic, and lacking in compassion, but
some may view a spiritual awakening as that and for some it may be that. As
an artist I'm exposed to many people's creativity and some of it I find
abrasive, but I don't believe art should be censored. I've learned to look
at it from an objective point of view. I believe our common ground here is
the Kundalini. If we start thrashing each other for a difference in
perspective...well then, it becomes silliness, then you're whirling and
twirling in duality, and the only stillness, I have found, is in the self.
I'm very interested in reading others Kundalini experience if it is something
people are open to sharing. I believe it may help me to understand my own
experience better and it would be good to give each other support.
Mystress Kundall...I suppose some would consider that name New Agey, but who
cares. Wayne Dyer once said, "If someone told you sitting on a chair studded
with crystals will heal hemorrhoids and you have hemorrhoids would you sit on
it?" and then he added "I would." Then of course if someone told you sitting
in a bath of acid will clear your skin would you do it? I would hope not!
The point is, whatever we do in life we try to do from a place of wisdom, and
since wisdom is acquired it is a learning experience. A Buddhist nun once
said you cannot have true compassion without wisdom. I suppose that makes us
subject to bumps and at times lacking in compassion. I've found it important
not to be attached, to look at myself honestly, but without criticism. I try
to treat others in the same way. Of course I'm subject to whirling too, but
then again, honesty without criticism. It would be good if we can all find
support here. You and Acura are VERY intelligent people. There is much you
can learn from each other, much to embrace. I believe enough said on this.
Do I hear a here a here?
Loving you all, Kimberly
