oh yeah! chanting is so great!
my neurological illness developed into me making all kinds of involuntary
words and sounds whenever i became tired and worn down... after a couple of
years, i realized there was some pattern to the noises, and my body was
developing spontaneous chants... the vibrations have been cleaning up my
pineal gland, and giving me better patterns of sleep... and also carrying my
consciousness into focus of unity with various chakras...
i started combining this with a simple exercise Mystress Angelique taught me
years ago, chanting scales corresponding with chakras... it involves moving
up another octave beyond the Crown Chakra to get one's awareness into the
chakras up beyond the Crown...
i tend to start chanting a sound that sounds like aaahhh/oooooo/eee-eeen
(sounding like the vowels in "ma", "moo", "mean")... this starts vibrating
the Throat Chakra (aaahhh), Pineal Chakra (oooooo) and Crown Chakra
(eee-eeen) as the energy shoots on up...
from there, i sometimes repeat it over and over.. and sometimes reverse it
on down in the other direction... i found that the sound "ohhh" (like in
slow, very slo-o-o-o-o-ow) vibrates my Heart Chakra... and i keep going down
the scale trying to find the low tones that vibrate my lower 3 chakras...
and then go back on up again...
just today, i found a high note, about one tone above the Crown Chakra
(eee-eeen)... it is like some high pitched undefined vowel sound something
like nasally shooting a very high "neeeee--------ee-ing" which made me feel
the chakra above the Crown very clearly... it just clearly occured to me
today that i was focused on the Root Chakra of my Higher Self when i got to
this chakra right above the Crown... it's a brand new wonderful experience
that i'm very excited about playing with some more...
well, that's perhaps already more complex than many folks want to follow,
but i am doing another very interesting chanting... a good friend who is
very musically gifted and trained, and also able to channel, is guiding me
into exploring all kind of sounds that my body is just opening up to being
able to reach... and this is truly amazing stuff, that i couldn't really
describe in any detail right now... (aren't you glad?... heheheheh)... but
perhaps i will try sometime soon...
also, as mentioned in my last post, i also just started adding Pranayama
(alternate nostril breathing) into the mix... my Body and Heart just seem to
be calling for me to be doing these things at the present time...
i'd love to hear about others' experiences with mantras/chanting/sounds and
visualizations... it is such a playful and relatively way to open up to new
levels of awareness... and i suspect that it is also my body's way of trying
to heal itself...
it's even possible that pushing me into this exploration, is one reason that
my body is manifesting the illness that i've been experiencing for so
long....
