A google search lead to about a hundred websites, I perused them selectively after reading the original post, to refresh my memory... some of the links were to the K-list archives. :) None of them recommend cutting under the tongue, most suggest that simply putting the tongue at the soft palate and visualizing the energy streams is sufficient. The K-list archives, our dear Wim suggests that the mudra is best when it occurs spontaneously. That is rather the point of kriya yoga, monkey see, monkey do. The kriyas mimic what K does to people spontaneously. Goddess has it handled.
