Dear Katie,
I'd suggest that the secret is simply in *not* trying. :)) You are fighting
to leave one place and arrive someplace else. But you are already There,
where you want to be, and always have been. The merry-go-round can be
pleasure or pain, depending on whether one looks on it as a cyclical trap, or
a joyful childlike experience.
In some ways most of us feel "trapped" in one way or another. Sometimes we
can make concrete changes in our lives and sometimes not. If we accept that
everything is and has always been the way it should be, that there are no
"mistakes," we find we can find joy simply in being. The secret is in
surrender, not in struggle.
Love, Hillary
