Well, in a word, no. Anger would probably arise from the ego judging
ones adversaries as somehow inferior. Simple discernment may reveal that
the greedy warmongering power-crazed fascist criminal corporate lapdog
twits running the political show have chosen the wrong path. To overcome
this evil with good, love is needed. The first step would be
forgiveness. They know not what they do. They are blind. So, then, you
could choose reason, avoidance, or the warrior path. If you choose
reason, and protest their behavior from the perspective of love, your
truth may well be ignored, and the suffering will continue. If you
choose avoidance(not exactly acceptance), and, say, withold your taxes,
boycott all petroleum and other corporate products, the suffering will
probably continue and may even increase slightly. If you choose the
warrior path and, say, block the freeways, blow up the gas stations,
enter into armed conflict with authority, the suffering will continue
and almost certainly increase, at least in the short term. Changing the
behavior of other people is difficult, if not impossible. And
realistically, most of us living in wealthy countries are to blame. We
motor along merrily, powered by petrochemical products which are
commonly extracted from less powerful countries at gunpoint. All the oil
companies are now using private militias to enforce their "extraction
rights". Whoops, I have digressed!
my anger affects me spiritually...
Well, yeah, sure, you bet'cha, by golly, sho' nuff it does. Because in
the silent stillness of your heart center, you/I/we/the I (heh)know
that anger is almost always wrong, usually a case of the ego flipping
out over having been inconvenienced, or disempowered, removed from
control. Inappropriate anger creates conflict, and therefore spiritual
suffering. Yet as soon as you are sorry(and forgive), you are forgiven.
And so weep tears of joy as the healing waves of bliss sweep over you.
Such is the power of love. Yes I!
I am just so angry that I dont have a say...
But you do! Shout it from the rooftops, with love in your heart.
Agknowlege your emotions, but then let the anger go. Don't surf that
wave! Forgive, and then you can respond with love.
I am so angry at all the hard headed horrible people in the world...
They aren't actually horrible. They are God's children, behaving
horribly. A minor quibble, but an important and useful distinction.
Leaves room for forgiveness, and perhaps the hope that suffering might
be decreased. The judgement of ego is worthless. Anger, hatred and
resentment are worthless. Having forgiven your enemies, you can love
them, and, energized by the power of righteous indignation, act against
their evil behavior with love in your heart. Choose anger- and you will
suffer needlessly. Forgive them- and then kick their ass. Then give them
milk and cookies. Yep, it's late and I'm tired. Been meaning to respond
to this post tho, as I feel rather deeply about all this. This is all my
opinion, of course, and may be rejected as incorrect, but it is offered
with love in my heart and tears of both sadness and joy in my eyes. The
future of the planet does indeed look rather bleak unless we really get
ta steppin', and quick. I love you all, and wish you well.
