Nice to see the "become the walking" suggestion got some follow-up. I hiked
a lot, backpacking around the world. Can't do it now, but my heart is
longing for those old times sometimes.
Like Lori, walking the Incatrail really did it for me. I did not know hiking
in the mountains could be such a majestic experience. I associated it with
dull vacations in Austria and Switserland. Hiked again in the Indian
Himalaya's later on. I did not know the walkingmeditation techniques at that
time, but I feel you are forced into a way of walking that is very aware,
using your breath with everything you do, or you will not make it on some
trails. Those experiences might have made the way for my later K-awakening.
Becoming one with the mountains, beautiful as they are, is much easier than
becoming one with the rest of the world...
