Carol,
As someone who initially experienced fibromyalgia, joint pain and chronic
fatigue with my original K-surge a few years ago, I must tell you that the
ONLY thing that has made a difference, made me feel better, has been changing
my diet. I am functional and mostly pain free if I avoid SUGAR, dairy,
refined carbohydrates, alcohol, artificial sweeteners, and some kinds of
fruit that are too sweet. With K my nutritional requirements and what my
body can tolerate changed drastically, and I've had to figure the whole thing
out on my own, a little at a time! I haven't perfected my system yet, but I
am greatly improved, all joint pain is gone, I only have a little neck pain
now and then, and my energy is 95% normal. I only very occasionally take
tylenol or ibuprofen for a headache or menstrual cramps.
I was originally tested for all kinds of autoimmune illnesses and nothing
showed up, which was good because for me, drugs have never been the answer
and have often harmed me and complicated my health problems. It may well be
that the steroids and pain medications you have come to rely on are helping
control inflammation that is caused by something or things in your diet. You
might wish to consider "going back to the drawing board" and trying to figure
this out.
