Greetings,

To me, "Awakened" means realizing that there is a spiritual path to be
walked. "Enlightenment" is realizing that the path merely leads you in a big
circle.

A monk asked, "What is a person that goes beyond Buddha?"
Master Joshu replied, "Any person who leads an ox or plows a field."Once a monk asked, "What is Holy?"
Master Joshu replied, "Not ordinary."
So the monk asked, "What is ordinary?"
Joshu said, "Not Holy"
Puzzled, the monk then asked, "What about it when there is neither Holy nor
ordinary?"
"Ahhh!" said Joshu, "THAT is a good Zen monk."
