I've been taking prescription strength Ibuprofen (600mg) for years. I don't take it
daily, nor even every other day. I may average 2 to 4 pills per week at the most. Some
weeks I don't take any. I knew that it could eat away your stomach lining if you take it
on an empty stomach. That was the only bad thing I was aware could happen from Ibuprofen.
They prescribe it like it's water. Whenever I need a new refill, they never ask me to
come in, they just dole out another prescription of it.

I have Fibromyalgia and it was prescribed as a mild, non-narcotic anti-inflammatory drug
for help with the awful back pain I've had for the last 13 years. I'll have to say that
by the time I'm hurting badly enough to even think of taking a pain med, the Ibuprofen
isn't strong enough to touch it, even when I double the dose. This news is shocking,
truly. I'll be emailing my doctor about it right now.
