Subject: [K-list] Re: yoga freak  Hello, Shelle,

Ultimately, no matter what yoga class you attend or if you even
decide to continue yoga, the best guidance you will receive will be
the guidance that comes from within.

That you have found few yoga instructors who are able to offer
guidance or even accept/understand from personal experience what is
going on is not surprising to me. It is what I found when I was
looking for the same thing a while back. Even now, thickly set as I
am in the 'yoga community', even teaching now, too, I find very few
teachers who have more than a textbook awareness of kundalini. The
teachers I train with are prepared to deal with just about anything
happening in class, but there is little or no specific required
  education as regards kundalini awakenings.

Please be aware that while Kundalini yoga practicioners are typically
more versed in the dynamics of kundalini, or, at least they know what
kundalini is, this does not mean that they approach it with a
balanced and healthy attitude. Kundalini yoga practicioners often
think of themselves, and their students, as needing to
become 'warriors'; the will is developed to such a degree that there
is no room for compassion towards the body. Beware, also, the very
tempting possibility of letting go of your own good judgment and
replacing it with Yogi Bhajan's judgment as filtered down through his
devotees. For instance, when I was finding that the practice of K
yoga had tuned my body to such a high pitch that I couldn't lie in
corpse pose without vibrating off of the floor, I was told by my
teacher that this was a good thing, that I should view it as a
blessing and continue, despite the apparent ill-effects on my health.

My best advice to you is to pursue the yoga that helps you feel at
ease in body and mind. Sometimes taking a break from it and doing
other things that help you feel balanced is a great thing to do. You
might find it helpful to spend your time doing things that help
recirculate the energy that is trying to blast off. If you don't find
the support you are looking for from a yoga teacher, don't despair...
  K-Gateway provides loads of support.

Most of all, trust yourself. You know exactly where to take yourself.
Think of it as an extraordinary conversation... with yourself.

  best,
  Nina
