How beautiful. How appropriate. How true. My experience with "the light bulb going out" within my Skye-Baby has been the most telling, the most absolutely painful, the most learning time of my entire life. I never encountered death before; I never saw a dead body. But that's NOT IT! <I'M> not it!! Boy, I'll tell ya tho', it sure takes something like an avalanche to get through, no...beyond the ego.

One of the scariest things in the past for me has been the realization that I'm not me, not Hety, not female, not this, not that. I've tried to realize my Self and probably have succeeded a few times -- in glimpses. Short, brief "knowings." The communion of everything at once. Whoosh.

Thanks for your poem. I am coming to a point of knowing it's a good thing my Skye is gone.
