This is nonsense. People, enlightened or not, benefit from each other. "Enlightened" people aren't above us. They aren't Big Daddy or Big Mama come to save us from ourselves. They are part of the human family, and have needs too. And what kind of language is "the truly blessed"--we are all truly blessed, or none of us are. "The truly blessed with the gift" sounds like a Stephen King novel.

The whole point of money in the first place is to represent energy and effort. If you have nothing to use for barter, you need money. That's how it came into being. Even enlightened people need to eat. And, as my zen teacher once said, true compassion is knowing what is required in a specific situation. Sometimes it's a shoulder to cry on. Sometimes it's a slap in the face.

Personally, I don't see the difference between working with terminally ill and doing energy work or shakti work, whatever you call it. Why don't you do your job for free? Wouldn't that be a bigger benefit to humanity? Why is it always the "truly blessed" who are expected to give away their energy for free?

That's like women always being expected to do volunteer work for free. Or not getting paid for housework and childcare. If a society runs on money, then everyone should have some.

Before you judge another person so harshly, walk a mile in their shoes. Then when you judge them, you'll be a mile away and you'll have their shoes.
