On 2002/11/10 21:36, Stephen Kowalchuk posted thus to the K-list: Okay, I've been keeping my mouth shut through all these absolutely ridiculous
threads, trying to let everything wind its way out. Time for a reality check
and a rant.
<the reality check>
This is Angelique's list. She was in the small group that started it, and she's
been moderating it and contributing to it long before it was on Yahoo.
There are some priveleges incumbent in so much dedication and longevity, not the
least of which is a bit of inherent respect. So, if some of us doubt she has
the stuff, fine. Go check out Tamra's list, or someone else. You are in
someone's house here, and you might wanna act like it.
While this is a pretty open forum, it doesn't give you license to say anything
you damn well please. Of course disagreement is allowed, and even
encouraged...when it's on-topic and relevant to the international audience of
over 800 folks who come here because they are working through their K
experience.
<a rationale>
I believe some of this phenomenon is the work of K releasing some rather large
ego-parts in some of us, and the parts are being released through an ego which
is unable to let go. The result is ego projection (out of fear of
vulnerablility), paranoia (because the mind needs to rationalize why it must let
go and needs an object to displace the fear onto), and fantasy (as the mind
tries to recalibrate to handle the lost parts). A crisis much like
disillusionment, where we find things are not as we think and we must
recalibrate ourselves.
Food for thought.
<now the rant>
However, I have found the recent off-topic and egocentric postings very
distracting. Some of them sound like the poster is on a major acid trip and
trying to suck the rest of us into that rather twisted space. Others are
spewing all their internal anxiety and grief and broadcasting it at everyone and
that can screw with our own balance. Still others are now galvanizing and
creating their own anti-establishment pseudo-reality and challenging the elders
on the list.
So it goes, and the Kundalini -- no matter what we like -- does its thing as it
pleases, giving us only passing glimpses of it. It -- and not we -- is in
charge.
I suggest you guys who are trying to shoot holes in Angelique and the rest of
the K-List moderators examine your own motives. The premise of 90% of the list
advice is simple. Give up your attachments and adjust to what is, and not what
should be. If K is rocking your world, let go of the world and enjoy the ride.
Drive out fear, and separation, and loneliness. In nonduality, there is none of
this. And the K-ride is a one-way trip with few stops and no waiting.
Now here's my advice: everyone gets to be an asshole once in a while. Don't
abuse the privelege. Give up being right, and try just being for a while. Stay
open, grounded, and loving, and you might get through. Cling to that ego, and
the world around you -- a mirror to illuminate the lessons of the day -- will
show you some stark images indeed.
