hi Rachel,

great questions... i have no answer for you... but i have been dealing with
disabling chronic pain for many years... after about 12 years of trying
every kind of thing i could find, traditional and alternative... then i got
a message from within to surrender and embrace my illness... as a gift, when
i am able.. *grin*

Mystress Angelique's suggestion about looking up Padre Pio reminded me to
also suggest reading about Brother Andre of Montreal, my favorite healer...
he was never healed of his own illness, and lived on into his 90's...
perhaps you may smile when reading about him... i did...

i originally found out about him because he was especially devoted to St.
Joseph, who is so very special to me... i feel a special loving and warm,
gently strong protective masculine essence fill me whenever i focus on St.
Joseph... he is very quiet... and very powerful...

my love of St. Joseph has balanced out the strong feminine-oriented presence
that has filled me for decades as a devotee of the Mother Goddess... a
message about him came to me once during a vison-quest into my pain, that i
took by going off my pain medications until i became delerious and drifted
in and out the dream worlds...
