Hi Holly2,

The real question I think is "What does it feel like you were doing with your
ritual?" Does it really matter where it came from if it makes you a better
human being? Where it came from will depend on who you ask. Some will say
"Gaurdian Angels" "Spirit Guides", "God", "Jesus", "Buddha". If you were to
ask me directly, I would say it is your Higher/Highest-Self guiding you. All
these are names for the same thing.

What you described was a beautiful cleansing ritual almost straight out of
Wiccan tradition. Probably other traditions too. If you feel that this was
helpful, just get in touch with the energy that guided you to this. The more
in touch you are, the more the lines of communication open up. If the energy
wishes to be known by a name or title, it will make this known by example.
Rarely does such guidance come in words.
