You are going to be a wonderful father, Jason. The only advice I would
give you is: Please lighten up. The child is not being sent as a means
of retribution for your past mistakes. The child is a precious gift
from God - unearned, and yes, undeserved, as all of our children are.
You will make mistakes. Bet on it. But you will undoubtedly do the
very best you can. So, please, forgive yourself up front, and delight
in your child.
