Subject: [K-list] The Bronze Rule and Empathy
From: Rev_K
On 2002/10/27 02:18, Rev_K posted thus to the K-list: Here is the Bronze Rule for those who have not attained
the level of self love, or have not acknowledged the presence
of Divine love in their lives necessary to properly apply the
Golden Rule:
Treat others better than you treat yourself.
This way, you can have low self-esteem, treat yourself poorly, but
still be nice to others.
A martyr can't properly apply the golden rule because he would treat
others as poorly as he would Treat himself. But he surely would be
able to use the bronze rule in spite of himself.
