    The long dark night is part of the later stages of awakening,
characterized by an absence of connection to the Divine. No kriyas, no
feeling of Shakti, a sense of having been abandoned by God-dess. It comes
after most of the karma is cleared, and the ego is mostly merged into the
Divine. Seems like "Goddess has left the building", but actually "thou art
that", cannot find Spirit because it is you, There is also a phase of
experiencing Divine Loneliness. One is the loneliest number, so Goddess
made the illusion of many, to get hugs.

    It apears to me, that despite the subject line of the thread, most of
those posting are experiencing a more garden-variety depression cause by
circumstances and karma clearing.
