I have not taken the SRF Kriya so I can not speak for it. The swami has done
both. The way I understand it the end result is the same...the awakening and
smoother flow of Kundalini.

There are many different disciplines out there that have a process for
awakening and working with kundalini. The more I study or hear about them I
see many similiarities between the systems which tells me Kundalini
awakening is appreciated everywhere and is possible anywhere.

The Taoist/Chinese systems value smooth, non-dramatic awakenings and
cultivation of Kundalini. They disdain dramatic openings like I had
spontaneously. If I had a teacher that allowed me to awaken in the way I had
he/she would have been disparaged for poor teaching skills. I LOVE the way
my kundalini opened for me, so ravenously blissful and earthshaking.
Very,very dramatic.

But, different systems value different styles awakening. It is nice to
sample or become aware of the differences but the final ending is the same,
the rising of kundalini and the opening of all the chakras.
