Don't be sorry! I'm enjoying all conversation about this subject and probably most people on the list are as well. Synchronistically, other discussions on different Yahoo lists have turned to the topic of ego as well...;-)

Not only that! I mentioned that I belong to a Thursday nite discussion group on A Course in Miracles. Interestingly enough we all got to talking about ego. What a terrific discussion! My yoga instructor, who's a Sikh, talked in Yogic terms about expanding the ego to include the Universe while the Freudian psychiatrist defined ego in psycho-analytic terminology and his BROTHER, a retired Methodist minister, related to the ego in terms of "outgrowing" its bounds. Ego must be "in the air" as we progress into Mercury Retrograde...I don't know!!

Ego isn't a bad thing unless we let it be. And that's the way it is with everything we experience as human beings. Nothing is inherently good or bad. You have a choice as to how and where you direct your perception.

I am kind of sorry that I asked this whole "ego" question. But it seemed to
come up so much as a bad thing in spirituality. But I feel that we are all
so unique. And......individual. That being our authentic self was a good
thing. So what was all this about ego? I think that our differences are so
interesting if we are accepting. Maybe that is why it is an issue. We are
all one but different. I don't know. It seems that the harder that I try to
understand spirituality......the more it eludes me.
