Dear All,

I'm posting this to say how glad I am that this group is here,
and to thank every one of you just for being kindred spirits.
I've been reading a book by Nietzsche, and in it he mentions how
associating with people who are of a different ilk can sap your
strength. How true that is.

I've been bopping around various Yahoo discussion groups, and
have come away feeling a bit drained from the experience. The
atheists insist that any meditative experience is just do
to "opiates released by the brain", and refuse to acknowledge
or believe any subjective experience that doesn't come with
verifiable objective evidence. The Christian "fundies"
actually believe that every single word in the bible is literally
true, and worship that "engraved image" as if it were God
himself, denying or dismissing most direct spiritual experiences
with a bunch of quotes from the bible.

So, again, thank-you all for being here and sharing. You are my
refuge.Peace and Love,
