Subject: [K-list] Regarding Personal and "Natural" Views in Postings
From: Bhavin Desai
On 2002/09/04 03:00, Bhavin Desai posted thus to the K-list: My opinion is slightly different to most group members regarding personal
and "Natural" views in postings. When someone is expressing the Truth as
perceived by their own religion, philosophy, or other system of belief, it
appears to be more natural in many ways (ie closer to their inherent
Nature) than trying to substitute each potentially unsuitable "native" word
with a "global" one which is Politically Correct ("PC"). Furthermore, in
the translation to a bland "PC" version there is something valuable that is
invariably lost.
When I hear or read someone expressing the Truth in their natural
vernacular, the inspiration and thrill that it evokes is far more intense
than the watered-down "PC" version. It should be possible for all group
members to appreciate several expressions of the same one Truth. We should
automatically assume that "IMO" is implicit in every posting. Tolerance,
understanding, and patience are beneficial characteristics on the Kundalini
path.
On the other hand, there are some specific times where "PC" versions are
actually useful, for example in relative comparisons and research
activities.
Bhavin.
[PS Since writing the above, I have just read Joe's posting and agree with
his similar view on this matter.]
