I had two heart experiences, and they each lasted for 3 days. At the time, I was going to AA coming off years of drugs and several years of intense drug addiction. I had this dream after my first couple of meetings with a therapist. In the dream, some amorphous evil energy was trying to kill me, and spit out vicious torrent of flames aimed at me, which I barely evaded. It scared me so badly, that it woke me up, and as I was coming to consciousness, I realized that evil energy was my own anger, and it wanted me dead. I had never had an emotional release like that before, and it was as if I'd been purified or something.
For the next 3 days, wherever I went, I related to everyone on the street, related to our common humanity (and this is on the pavements in New York City). I would gaze for long moments at leaves, marvelling at the process of spring. I wept when I saw Pampers commercials or little babies in strollers. I was truly in the moment, unconcerned with past or future. Had absolutely NO desire for drugs. I was serene and completely at peace. I was told that this was called a pink cloud experience.
My mom was seeing a masseuse in Memphis at the time, and the masseuse happened to be psychic. The woman's name was Jinks. I knew Jinks slightly, but hadn't seen her in close to a year. I had the pink cloud experience on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The following Wednesday, mom went to see Jinks, and Jinks told her that on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the first thing she saw when she woke up was a picture of me smiling, surrounded by a pink cloud and very happy.
Before that, I'd been a stone cold nihilist. That experience started my spiritual search.
I had another 3-day experience exactly like the one above, only it was prompted by watching David Copperfield (the magician, not the Dickens character) do an amazing illusion where he walked thru the Great Wall of China . . . he said he was doing it to show that we could permeate the greatest barriers that divide us. Dunno. That just somehow sang to my heart and zoomed me into open heartland.
But what's with the 3 days? Is that some kind of cosmic unit of time? I met another person who had a similar 3-day experience.
