I didn't know that. These incidents stand out, IMO, because usually
people here have seemed to take care with each other. And by care, I
don't mean caution. I mean fair and thoughtful speech, even when
impassioned.

K brings up strong

I have no doubt of this. I am feeling strongly right now about the
ways we treat each other here.

Maybe. I tend to believe flame wars are harmful and pointless.

Hillary, I'm trying to understand how this statement applies to this
conversation. If you think that's what I want for/from this list,
you've misunderstood me completely. I hope that people will continue
to express strong opinions and powerful emotions, but not in
dictatorial ways.

If you're as tired of this as I am, I'd be glad to let it go now.
