Gregor,
I assume you are talking about Kriya Yoga (tm) and if so I can't help you
much. I respect Yogananda and what I've tried of his stuff worked and what
I've read seemed consistant with traditional teachings but I've never
studied his whole system so can't say much either way.
Kriya is a Sanskrit word and has been used in different ways to discuss
different, yet somewhat similar, things. One standard meaning of kriya yoga,
possibly the most common one, hasn't been but would probably best be
translated as spontaneous kriya yoga. That most certainly will "even out the
K process" or really make it easier on the person in process. That is why it
exists.
But here's the catch. K initiates the kriyas, (movements, positions) not
you. It moves your body into positions it needs for the body to allow it to
make progress. The positions focus prana on clearing the nadis, "untying"
the "knots" in the nadis, etc. to let K go on her way.
If those kinds of kriyas come on you, and it is a very subtle thing to catch
sometimes, then do them. Fighting them will just make things worse. And you
could end up as one person I know doing them in your sleep when she wouldn't
do them while awake. Scared the crap out of her husband to wake up with her
doing a headstand in bed beside him. Balancing a headstand in bed would have
impressed the hell out of me.
;-)
Namaste,
Joe
