Subject: [K-list] Thanks Nan
From: mundaneyogi
On 2002/09/01 07:10, mundaneyogi posted thus to the K-list: After meditating last night, I was just sitting with my legs out,
letting the blood flow get back to normal, and basking in that after
meditation glow, when I started thinking about my grandmother. She
passed-away a few years ago, and since we were very close,
especially when I was a child, the event deeply saddened me. Then I
remembered something I read in a Shaman book about giving thanks to
people who really helped you in your life. Since the concentration
on my grandmother ("Nan", I called her) was strong, I thanked
her for all she'd done for me.
I then started thinking about my other close relatives who had
passed-on (my grandfather, uncle, great aunt) and thanked them too.
Because I was 3,400 miles away when each of these people died, I
never had the opportunity to thank them in person, and so now this
was the only way to do it. Interestingly, I felt no trace of
sadness, only peace.
From a selfish perspective, this was a great way to remove some of
those heart blocks that we men are so prone to have. However, I can
also rationalize that since removing those blocks improves
meditation, I can be closer to people I love who have passed-on.
Peace and Love,
Ken
