Well mine has disowned me completely.

A mentor told me that loneliness was one of the indicators that God is
working with you spiritually.
The more I observe it, in my own experience and others around me.. the more
I can see it to be a truism.
like the old adage.. "its lonely at the top" .. ( and the bottom too)..
once you embark on the spiritual journey.. the "road less traveled",
the hero's journey = separation, suffering and return

I believe that pain has purpose.. and it's the "righteous" often times who
seem to suffer most. That's why people will often "sell their soul" in
order to stop the suffering (persecution). Suicide (or self sabotage) is
one of the methods.. btw. ... and grumbling about it will only make it
tougher and take longer.. (learned that one the hard way.. my damn-self..
lol )

But once you start on the spiritual path.. there is no jumping off place.
You simply cannot turn away from "knowing" and get away with it.. you'll
only jump out of the frying pan into the fire. karmic law.. i guess?
There never was a martyr who didn't have scoffers (enjoying the spectacle)
saying they didn't need to suffer.. but just give it up, say it isn't so,
and compromise. (kiss up)

I also believe that God is infinitely just and when its all said and done..
no one will be in a position to honestly say that it was too hard, He
should have done more for them. Do we really want the burden lifted?
Paying the price should be seen as privilege.. not as a burden. God will
make up the difference, yes, (for you staunch Christian "converts" ) but
the more you can pay your own way.. the more rewarding it will be for you in
the end.

That's the way I see it....
