Subject: [K-list] Chop Wood, Carry Water (what, again?)
From: Lbra782595

Greetings,

Just wanted share a hilarious realization I just had about the cliche'.

Aside from meditating and reading/answering e-mails, :^) I am building a
wooden deck for my T'ai Chi/Kung Fu teacher. I spend a few hours each week
"chopping" (OK sawing) wood.

A few weeks ago, my well pump went out at my ashram/tree farm out in the
Texas Hill country. I live with my girlfriend about sixty miles away in
Austin. Twice a week I load a fifty-five gallon barrel in the back of my
truck, fill it with water, drive the sixty miles to the tree farm and water
my saplings (they're only about a foot tall now, but I have about 300).

When the literalness (is that a word?) of the cliche' for me set in a few
minutes ago, I had to sit down to keep from falling down laughing at myself.

Build the deck, water the trees.

Somehow I find this all quite pleasing.

Love and Peace,

Jason B
