Dear Joe,

Because the whole idea of what is "real" and what is "imaginary" is at the
crux of your objection, isn't it? It is also an interesting question. After
all, you surely don't believe Kundalini is an actual serpent residing within
the body, do you?

Swami Tirth writes: "...Kundalini is the name of a specific condition of
Shakti. The three circles of Kundalini are also an imaginary concept. In
reality they refer to the three gunas or qualities of Sattva, Rajas and
tamas...The Kundalini pierces through the six chakras of Shakti or plexuses,
which are not physical. ..."

Personally, like Ken, I feel the energy quite physically. But whether the
Chakras, Ida, Pingala, Shushumna, etc. really exist physically is an
interesting question. Many of us certainly feel them! But If one feels them
only as energy, than the barriers between them become non existent. I don't

Well, I only have one of his books. In this one he generally makes a
distinction, although in one place he states, "Kundalini consists of Prana
Shakti." I trust Kurt Keutzer not to misquote, however.

But if you really want to continue the debate, I'd prefer to take it
off-list! :))
