I remember reading about these people in Yogananda's book too.
It is possible to live on k induced ecstasy so that nothing is ever needed again...like sex, or belongings, or clothing, or economic position, or reputation or (fill in the blank).
Usually people like that are mystics whom tend to be something of hermits in retreat.
